Love your Ironing!

As suppliers of commercial irons and ironing tables for the sewing, dry cleaning and alterations world it’s only natural that the team here at Reliable would become an ironing resource for those using our home ironing products.  As such, we are often asked ‘pressing’ questions. Here’s one:

“Why was the shirt that I ironed yesterday wrinkled when I took it off the hanger today?”

The simple answer lies in the balance between steam and heat.  The steam from the iron will relax the fibers of the fabric making the pressing part easier.  The key however, is to ‘dry’ the freshly steamed garment with the heat of the sole plate in order to ’set-the-press’.  If the garment is still damp with steam after you have pressed it the fibers will simply bounce back to their pre-ironed state while drying in your closet.  It takes very little effort to press with a Reliable iron because of the steam quality that they produce (remember: no spitting! no leaking! no kidding!), and the placement of the steam holes at the tip of the sole plate (just like our commercial-grade irons).  By placing the steam holes at the tip the remaining part of the sole plate takes on the job of setting the press.  It’s that simple.  The iron does the work so you don’t have to.

Thanks for the great review Kelly.

THE NEW DIGITAL VELOCITY V100

v100_blog
With apologies to readers who’ve been checking our blog, (since July 21st) waiting for a new postings. Well better late then never right?

The truth is that my absence has been equal part work overload (thankfully, Art is back today) and part hesitation as to what to do with this whole blog thing. I have to admit I haven’t quite figured out what approach this blog should be taking. But for the time being, I’m going to trust my instincts and just forge ahead with some straight news, and whatever else pops into my head.

So without further ado, it’s time to get back to posting.

Last month we launched the new Digital Velocity V100 compact vapor generator iron. Like any new product, you do the work, sit back, and hope that you’ve gotten someone’s attention. We had so much anticipation for the new V100, (particularly amongst quilters and sewers) so when it finally arrived and started to sell like hot cakes, well to say the least, we were very, very happy (kinda like a proud parent).

For those of you who are curious about the new V100, please call your local dealer for a demo. If they don’t have one, implore that they buy one for their showroom. This is a very special iron, and you are going to love it. I promise.
