THE NEW SEWERGO CHAIR

SewErgo Sewing Task Chair

I had the pleasure earlier this week visiting a friend at her companies showroom. Some of you may know Knoll, the world famous maker of chairs and office systems. Their products are absolutely gorgeous, and if you are lucky enough to be using a Knoll chair, or working in an office that uses their products, you know very well the importance good design.

I count myself one of the lucky ones, as I sit in a Knoll Life chairs all day. My back has never been happier. While a top level, designer chair may not be attainable for everyone, I do believe that everyone is entitled to sit in a chair that incorporates some basic ergonomic attributes.

A few weeks back we launched the new SewErgo task chair that offers some great features, at a remarkably affordable price. At $99, I think a major price barrier has been removed. There really is no reason to be sitting in a poorly made, badly designed chair all day. The SewErgo is within everyone’s reach.

THE NEW EMPRESSA S550

empressa_s550

About seven or eight years ago a sewing dealer acquaintance of mine told me we shouldn’t bother introducing our own line of steam presses. “A passing fad” I think was the way he described it. Boy, am I glad I didn’t listen to him. Our Empressa steam press sales have been a bright spot in a challenging economy and they continue to increase every year.

The basic idea behind steam presses is very simple… iron, without using an iron. As time has progressed, the pressing area has increased in size, and the temperature control has become much more consistent as they’ve incorporated new technologies.

We are very pleased to present the latest, and most advanced Empressa ever, the S550.

THE NEW DIGITAL VELOCITY V100

v100_blog
With apologies to readers who’ve been checking our blog, (since July 21st) waiting for a new postings. Well better late then never right?

The truth is that my absence has been equal part work overload (thankfully, Art is back today) and part hesitation as to what to do with this whole blog thing. I have to admit I haven’t quite figured out what approach this blog should be taking. But for the time being, I’m going to trust my instincts and just forge ahead with some straight news, and whatever else pops into my head.

So without further ado, it’s time to get back to posting.

Last month we launched the new Digital Velocity V100 compact vapor generator iron. Like any new product, you do the work, sit back, and hope that you’ve gotten someone’s attention. We had so much anticipation for the new V100, (particularly amongst quilters and sewers) so when it finally arrived and started to sell like hot cakes, well to say the least, we were very, very happy (kinda like a proud parent).

For those of you who are curious about the new V100, please call your local dealer for a demo. If they don’t have one, implore that they buy one for their showroom. This is a very special iron, and you are going to love it. I promise.

RELIABLE SPONSORS QUILT OUT LOUD

quilt-it-out

We are pleased to tell you that we have signed up to be a major sponsor of QNNtv.com’s new quilting and lifestyle show, Quilt Out Loud. For more information, read the press release in it’s entirety below:

Winterset, Iowa June 5, 2009 QNNtv.com presents a brand new concept in quilt industry infotainment with the creation of the genre-breaking, quilter’s lifestyle program, Quilt Out Loud!, featuring the talent of co-hosts Mark Lipinski, creator and editor of Mark Lipinski’s Quilter’s Home magazine and QNNtv.com President and author, Jodie Davis. Quilt Out Loud! will debut July 30, 2009 on QNNtv.com.

More than just a show about patchwork technique and humdrum banter, this fun, contemporary and edgy programming transcends the predictable infomercial feel of all other online shows. It speaks to the multifaceted quilter — a viewer with wide and varied interests. From gardening to cooking and home decor, Mark and Jodie tap into the inspiration quilters find for all of their passions in life, and connect the dots with quilting. Inspiration is everywhere, and that’s where Quilt Out Loud! goes.

No longer playing to a quilting stereotype which no longer exists, Quilt Out Loud! jolts the entire field of the current crop of often flat and uninteresting online quilting video-casts and broadcast programming. Sure Mark & Jodie interview quilters - but they dig deep into the celebrities’ lives to find out what makes them who they are. Mark & Jodie review products and books, and tell what they really feel.

This series, produced exclusively for QNNtv.com by Michelle Clark, producer of such shows as TLC’s Trading Spaces, brings a refreshing approach to a quilter’s online experience and quilt related programming. The show embraces the lifestyle of the new generation of quilters. It’s filled with humor, debate, surprises, inspiration, current events, pop-culture, product reviews, money saving tips, and most of all, FUN!

Join us in shaking up quilting as we Quilt Out Loud!

SPRING QUILT MARKET IN PITTSBURGH

Spring Quilt Market - Pittsburgh

Spring Quilt Market - Pittsburgh

We’re going to be in Pittsburgh in a couple of weeks for the Spring Quilt Martket, and the only thing I can think of is… “how do I score some hockey tickets”. Hey, it’s been a long walk in the desert in Toronto when it comes to playoff hockey. Five years to be exact. I’m not even sure if they will be in town during the show dates, (May 15-17) but if they are, you can be sure I’m going to do my best to score some tickets. And you got to think they won’t be any more expensive then what the bandits in Toronto ($300.00 plus a ticket!) charge.

Getting back to Pittsburgh, I have heard so many good things about the city. The architecture, the museums, and of course the food. As is typical of our trade show adventures, there is precious little time for exploring, but we should have at least an afternoon after set up to see some sites.

If you are planning on visiting the show, please make sure you drop by to say hello. We’ll have the very exciting new Digital Velocity V100 compact vapor generator iron on display, as well as the latest generation Longboard C60LB 2-in-1 pressing board.

NEW UPDATED WEBSITE

website_new

www.reliablecorporation.com

I really think being a stickler to detail can be a curse.  This is our third website remake in 2-1/2 years.  Each time we finish one, I sit back and say YES, this is the one.  Unfortunately, that euphoric feeling will last for about a month, and then the wheels begin to turn.

For our newest remake, I decided to get a proper design.  A special thank you goes out to Megan at Ampers & Aster for the terrific job she did.  Good design is everything, and there is no one better than Ampers & Aster.

Being a Netsuite hosted site, means there are lots of challenges.  For all the back end work, big thanks go out to Ruben & Ivan and the whole team at BluePointUSA.  You guys really hit the ball out of the park with this site.

Okay, so I think (and hope) the euphoria is going to last more than a month this time.  Other than this blog, we’ve created some great new content, with new icons and a more easy to use layout.  The product page is now without tabs, so all of the information is right at your fingertips, without the need for extra clicks.

All in all, I think it is a big improvement from our old site.  I hope you like it too, and I welcome your comments and feedback.  And I promise (for now) no new sites for a while.

WELCOME TO OUR BLOG. IT ONLY TOOK 54 YEARS!

 robert_web1

So it took 54 years.  We finally have our very own, real live Blog!  Okay, so there weren’t blogs 54 years ago.  I’m still very excited about this portion of our new site.  By the way, my name is Robert Kahn, and I am the owner and president of Reliable Corporation.  I will be the administrator here, although I hope I’m not the only contributor.

The fact is, as you will no doubt find out, I’m not much of a writer.  So you’ll have to be patient with me as I develop my writing chops.  But I am very passionate about my company, and the products we produce.  I think we do some pretty cool things here.  And I can’t wait to share more of the inside “stuff” with our customers and friends.

So I have to tell you that I’m just out of the gate with this whole social networking thing.  I still don’t quite get Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and so on, but our SEO guru Ivan at BluePointUSA promises me that it is the way to communicate in the 21st century, so who am I to argue.

No doubt the journey will be challenging, but hopefully fun and adventurous.  I hope you will come back often and share this site with your friends and colleagues.
