FASHION INCUBATOR REVIEWS PROFESSIONAL IRONING PRODUCTS

fashion-incubator

It’s not everyday that we see a professional ironing products review.

Kathleen Fasanella of the Fashion Incubator is someone who is very passionate about the garment industry and does a wonderful job commenting on the state of our trade on her website www.fashion-incubator.com.

If you are considering an investement for your small business, or perhaps for your hobby, her thoughtful review of our popular i500 ironing station and our C81 vacuum and up-air pressing board is well worth a few minutes of your time.

HOW TO IRON PANTS

Stumbled upon a great “how-to” video done by Real Simple magazine. A great watch if you have a couple of spare minutes and want to learn a few ironing tricks. Pretty cool iron too!

THE NEW IRONMAVEN™ J420

New IronMaven J420 Ironing Station

New IronMaven J420 Ironing Station

We are pleased to present the J420, the newest addition to our IronMaven family.

The J420 is essentially a new and improved version of our popular J410. We’ve upgraded some of the internal parts to make the J420 even more robust, and we’ve used the same iron as our more expensive J490A.

The 1.2-liter (5-cup) water capacity is sure to please those that do a lot of ironing, and priced at just $249.00 retail, it is aimed directly at those who are looking for professional features, with Made in Europe quality and sensibility.

The Iron Maven J420 is in stock, and available for immediate delivery.

WE’RE IN GQ MAGAZINE

GQ Magazine April 2009

I was delighted to pick up this months GQ Magazine (okay, having images of Kim Kardashian didn’t hurt) to discover a well thought out article on the joys of ironing.Yes, I said ironing.

Seems that the modern male might be taught a thing or two about looking after their most precious Armani’s and Hugo Bosses. The article, written by Mark Healy, hits the nail right on the head, “beyond the environmental factors, the real reason you should be washing and ironing your shirts is that they’re your shirts”. Hallelujah!

Okay, as an iron manufacturer we’re a little biased (a review of our Digital Velocity V95 is on the same page) but if I can take my company hat off for a minute, doesn’t it make sense that ironing should join other movements du jour, like the slow cooking sensation? Isn’t it time to take back those every day tasks that our pre-recession brains deemed as too petty. Maybe we can learn something from these tough times after all.

Heck, Mr. Healy even suggests ironing while watching the football game. Throw in a beer or two and I’m sure we could enlist some willing guys.

NEW ACCESSORIES FOR C81 AND C88 ACTIVE IRONING BOARDS

New Ironing Board Accessories

For years now we’ve been asked why we didn’t offer a sleeve board for our popular C81 and C88 home/professional active ironing boards. So when we finally got around to designing one, we figured we would go one step further and add an optional bottle holder for all those customers that insist on using a gravity feed iron (why you would want to use a gravity iron over a steam boiler system is still beyond me, but I digress).

So now we have 3 terrific options. The sleeve board and bracket (#C8SH), the bottle holder and bracket (#C8BH), and one that includes both accessories (#C8SBH). I really love what we’ve done with the sleeve board. It was very important to design a sleeve board that would be convenient to use, and move away when not required (plus we’ve used a terrific quality cover/pad set). The combination makes great sense as well for gravity iron owners. When you compare the package with our competition, ours is priced  hundreds of dollars less, and provides in my opinion, a superior product. Plus we have cETLus approval on both our C81 and C88 active ironing boards.

GOOD HOUSEKEEPING SAYS WE’RE #2

Good Housekeeping April 2009

Good Housekeeping April 2009

I’m a pretty competitive guy by nature. So when Good Housekeeping magazine came out last week, and listed us as the #2 iron, my first thought was, “We’re not #1?”.

After a few minutes I realized what an accomplishment being #2 is. The Digital Velocity V95 is our first go at the consumer iron market. After years of making commercial grade ironing products, the V95 was a bit of a leap of faith for us.

So while being #1 would have been great, I can say that being #2 is pretty cool too. The article goes on to say that the V95 (which costs $50.00 less than the #1 rated iron) was a “Close second in performance and it was best at smoothing wrinkles from silk and wool”. On their website, the full review says “If you need it, Reliable also offered the most helpful customer service of all the companies we called”.

I’ll take that any day.
